The preschool years, ages three and four, are extremely important for children’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language and literacy development. Children’s development can be affected by high quality preschool experiences that can improve later academic and social competence. Preschools make a difference in children’s lives. Therefore, every three and four year old child should have access to high quality experiences. Opportunity strives to deliver a high quality preschool experience which embraces appropriate preschool practices. Through this program of early education intervention, we expect our students to acquire, involuntarily and without conscious effort, "language skills" needed to become adequate readers, acquire a large vocabulary, develop the ability to understand and use complex grammatical instructions, develop a good writing style, and become good spellers. They will tend to lead and excel academically.

As part of our mission to serve the economically disadvantaged, it is our hope that Opportunity, Inc. will play a critical role in laying the foundation for our children’s successful future. We expect our graduates to be promoted through the primary grades, have high graduation rates from high school, and have fewer behavior problems. Documented research has supported the theory that children across all economic backgrounds, particularly those whose parents have the least formal education and lowest incomes, appear to benefit most from programs such as ours. We also offer Music Enrichment and Arts & Crafts for our students two years of age and older. Our classes are:

INCHWORMS– 6 weeks to 1 year old
CUDDLEBUGS – 1 year old to 2 years old
DRAGONFLIES – 2 years old to 2 ½ years old
CATERPILLARS – 2 ½ years old to 3 years old
COCOONS – 3 years old
BUTTERFLIES/HONEYBEES – 4 & 5 years old
Please note: According to the Palm Beach County School District Guidelines, if your child will be 5 years of age on or before September 1st, he/she will be start Kindergarten in August.
