Evening Raises Funds for Early Childhood Education & Family Center

Opportunity Early Childhood Education & Family Center has a fun itinerary planned for guests of the nonprofit's annual gala.
The signature fundraiser, "Charting the Course," will take place Feb. 26 at The Breakers Palm Beach. The night starts at 7 p.m. Attendees will embark on a night of cocktails, fine dining and dancing to the VoxBlu Band.
"This is my third year on the gala committee and I am just as excited to be involved as the first year," said Millie Dayton, who is co-chairing the event with Marty Straton. "When you visit Opportunity and you see the faces of children who are eager to learn and you hear about how lives are being changed every day, you can't help but feel inspired."
Proceeds from the gala benefit the daily operations at Opportunity Early Childhood Education & Family Center. The center currently serves 96 children and has more than 300 others on a waiting list. The recently launched capital campaign "Opportunity Knocks" is raising funds to build a new campus that will serve more children and families.
"Since we are expanding, this year's gala is particularly important," said Ali Eger, executive director. "We want more people to know about the positive impact Opportunity has on local children and families. It will take community support to expand the number of children we are able to serve and to keep offering the same quality educational programs that we have provided for more than 75 years."
Sponsors for "Charting the Course" are Publix Super Markets Charities, PNC Bank, American Security Mortgage, Vantage in Philanthropy and BB&T.
