Opportunity for All

The Beach Club appears to extend its understated elegance into and over the sands and ocean surf from its perch in Palm Beach. Its buttoned-down charm welcomed sup- porters of Opportunity Early Childhood Education & Family Center for their annual signature fundraiser, the Opportunity Holiday Luncheon & Boutique.
The generous devotees of the organization that provides developmental programs for children of working families in Palm Beach County exhibited neither hesitation nor buyer’s remorse as they gladly “Shopped for Opportunity,” amongst the 12 shopkeepers who donated a portion of each sale to Opportunity. When the pop-up shops retracted their awnings, lunch with an ocean view awaited them.
Two extraordinary women were recognized during the luncheon program. A young mother of two, Danette Volmy, received Opportunity’s annual R.I.S.E. award. Though Volmy and her children have experienced the loss of a husband and father, Volmy per- severed with the help of Opportunity and will soon graduate from nursing school. Naomi Rosenberg received the Winifred C. Anthony Award, recognizing her ongoing commitment to the children of Opportunity.
