Opportunity Charity to Break Ground on New Campus

Palm Beach’s oldest charity, Opportunity Early Childhood and Education Center, will break ground for a new campus in the Westgate area of West Palm Beach at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Wearing hard hats and supplied with shovels, children from the Opportunity program will break the first ground at Westgate Avenue and Donnell Road.

Once completed, the 22,000-square-foot Erin Harrison Gilmour Early Childhood Education Center will accommodate 285 children. Donors to the project include Jill and David Gilmour and Christine and Robert Stiller.

Since 1939, Opportunity has provided educational programs for children from low income working families.
