Opportunity Holds Midsummer Night's Dream-themed Fundraiser
A Midsummer Night’s Dream theme greeted guests April 1 at Opportunity’s Gala in the Garden. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres took place poolside, then dinner was served on the great lawn under a clear top tent. “Opportunity has been around since the Great Depression, but we wanted to bring the gala into the 21st century,” said Co-Chair Joan Klann. Allison Wrenalso was co-chair.
More than 270 guests dressed in garden party attire filled an estate on North Ocean Boulevard. Twinkling lanterns and a whimsical garden swing made for a “magical” setting.
Opportunity established itself as Palm Beach’s first children’s charity in 1939 to help the families of impoverished fishermen.
